They collect data and discuss health concerns with members of specific populations or communities. Although the two occupations often work together, responsibilities of health educators and community health workers are distinct.
Salary: $43,840 per year
$21.08 per hour
Education: Health educators need at least a bachelor's degree. Some health educator positions require a master’s or doctoral degree.
Demand: Employment of health educators and community health workers is projected to grow 13 percent from 2014 to 2024, faster than the average for all occupations.
